Hi, please be more specific. What Amp, what cab, what effect, how the crackling sound? (can you make a record and upload)? Thanks.

Are u on the latest firmware version ?
-
every time I set up a stomp,, the next day I go to it and its the BIT CRUSHER instead, I set it to green scream, next day,, its back to the bit crusher,,,, driving me nuts,, anyone else?
-
also can I erase/ delete the bit crusher,, its worthless to me,, ??? get it out of the unit
I want good tone,, not crap tone,,, -
A suggestion:
Save your Rig with the effect you want in it.
Make a backup file.
Turn your KPA off.
Turn it back on.
Has the effect changed to a Bit Crusher?
If so, make another Backup.
Contact Support, and send them both Backups.

I want good tone,, not crap tone,,,well i love the bitcrusher i use it on almost every fuzz sound ...
@paults thanks! i'll try it

Agreed! starved voltage cutoff (and that's now the official and most likely wrong) term
-
as soon as i use the bitcrusher i get strange crackling peaks
Is the Output LED turning red when this happens?
-
no offense intended,at all,,on the " crap Tone " comment,,,,
but that's what the engineer said,, when he heard what happened, stopped my over dub,,and said,,," your tone is crap, what happened?" it was funny at the moment,,,,,
I play mostly clear/clean,, stuff,, so when I step on the green scream for a little little boost , it sounds like lightning hit my rig and its cracklin like a almost dead TV,, I am sure that its a useful tool to some, but it destroys my track,, its annoying, and should not happen, two days later , I turn it on after saving all the last day of tracking,, and go to track, call up the rig,, step on the green scream and again,,,,,,gotta enter the green scream and hit save ,,because its the BIT CRUSHER again,,
Just going to put up with it till 4 hits and see what happens,,
all advice is very helpful, thanks all,
Still,,,, this is the best money i have ever spent on a piece of gear,,,,
BTW I found the perfect solution to me steeping on the loop button in the heat of battle, its a little plastic cap from a spray bottle, enjoy! -

Yes it does...
maybe i should change the Topic to "Broken Profiles" on other profiles everything works perfectly ... but some, most of the time direct or bass amps the peaks occur ... try changing cab with this profile an they will come i think ...
i already sent this profile to a friend and he had teh same problem with the profile https://www.dropbox.com/sh/wno…SARLDN9EuM537MCf7Dma?dl=0 -
should i contact the support now ? now that i now that this is a problem within some profiles
-
Yes it does...
Maybe I am missing something, but why don't you just turn the rig volume down and resave? If the output clips you're saturating the converter... the only, real digital distortion
-
t is not all the time while playing very loud the lights are just green but suddenly there are ultra loud peaks, and the led gets red ...
no matter how quiet the sound was before... the support also said the amp was too loud but i already turned that down ... hmmm i'll try it again maybe i missed something ...that is one of he profiles ...

the rig that you send me is overloading the output of the Profiler. If you dial back the drive in the bit shaper and reduce the amp stack level and the studio eq you can prevent the overload.

no matter how quiet the sound was before..Mhhh... this makes me think of something that happened to me a while ago.
I was having weird strong and random impulsive noises when picking. It turned out that sometimes I was slamming the string against a PU's pole... might this be your case as well? It might be worth checking. -
i'll have to wait till tomorrow, i'm on the road right now ... do you mean the bitshaper gain/drive or volume ? ... reducing the drive would be a bit of a dealbraker for that profile because i want the effect to be very stong
