SOLVED - can someone tell me the difference between front and return input for reamping?

Hi all. I'm asking to all who can give me clarification on the difference between return and front input.

as per the thread below, unfortunately I'm force to use, until further solution still to come, the front input to host the audio device output with my dry guitar. The return input seems dead and no one knows how come!

I remember I have read that the front input should not be used for reamping purposes due to the signal. What is the difference? since I have no choices here I can leave with some signal problem, not of course with a degraded signal.

The difference in the inputs:

The front input is High impedance, instrument level.

The return input is Low impedance, Line level.

thanks Paults...so, in terms of put to practice, what is to be expected in using the front input?

I'm afraid I will be forced to use the front one until something happens that restores the return input

Like for reamping with a traditional guitar amp, I'd use a so-called "reamp-box" to get the proper impedance and levels for this input.

The main thing you would have to do is lower the line level to be equal to a guitar level. One way to do that would be to A/B the reamp track with the actual guitar used to create the track.
