Ongoing crah – I need your help

Hi Guys,

perhaps I was a little too enthusiastic about the stability of 4.0.1 I know it's a beta and I blame no one for the issues now. Anyway I at least would like to get back on my KAP's feet- and hope you could help me.

As I said I was on 4.0.1 and edited performance with the latest RM on my Mac. Suddenly the KPA collapsed and showed the screen:

I reported it to the Kemper guys, but it's sunday, so of course, I didn't hear back.

And now I tried to get it up and running again, but it doesn't work.

1. I just used the exit button and it came back to this screen. I tried this a several times and it always ended here.
2. I shut it down completely, waited a little and then pressed system when switching on again. Same result.
3. I shut it down completely, waited a little and then put in a fresh USB stick with 3.3 on root directory, pressed < and > and switched on again. Looked good for a long time while rebooting but in the end came back to this screen again.

So now I don't have any idea.

That's what I tried to describe under 3.

Unfortunately it was not successful.

I had tried with OS in root before and now tried with the OS Update Folder as well.

Still the same result.

No, on the mac. How can I format it on a broke KPA? But the KPA seems to recognize it, and boots and checks and so on. But in the end it returns to that error screen.

you can format it on the mac-just make sure to use FAT32 as the format.
You should put the kaos.bin into the root directory of the stick (not inside any folder)
when you press both page buttons during startup you should see "booting and burning from USB device" in the display.

I formatted it on a PC as FAT32, pressed "< >" while rebooting, saw "Booting and burning from USB device" and ended up again with the error screen.

I'm getting a little nervous now.

i would do:
1) downgrade to my good working os

if you want new kaos :
2) make a backup (on USB and with rig manager )
3) do a factory reset
4) upgrade to new kaos
5) try to get back content from rig manager (usb backup)

How can I downgrade to any os? It doesn't allow me to. All I do in the end leads me back to the error screen.

How does a factory reset work? I never did one. What are the downsides? Are there any?

If you mean pressing "System" while booting – I tried this before with no success.

I did it the hard way in the end means the flash memory update. Seems to have worked. I'm still about restoring.
