Convert a closed back Fender SC112 to a (semi) open back cab

I always played open back cabs. For my Kemper I got myself a small Fender SC112 cab for stage and rehearsal monitoring. The SC112 is only available as closed back and I gave it a try but I'd like the open back sound definitively more.

Do you guys think it would be cool to convert it to a open back cab or will I just destroy it by (semi) open the back?

Thanks. I was afraid that there might be something due to the construction (volume, measurements etc.) of the cab that it can be either open or closed and want sound awful if I change it.

That's no problem it was rather cheap (about 220 €) and I already modified it with some steal corner edges and stuff. I just don't wanna destroy it completely by opening the back.
