Maybe he's on a beta of 4.* and the connection crashed. I experienced this before. Only thing that helps is to switch off the profiler and reboot it with the remote connected. Otherwise something's broken.

the right thing to do would be to make the customer contact support by email. that's why we have customer support.
Sent an e mail to support...thought I might get a quick fix answer here whilst waiting for support to answer me.

Did you try another cable. Each short ethernet cable would fit for a test.
But really help now is only available at support
