Guide - how to recover accidentally deleted rigs from Kemper Profiler

  • At the beginning I will state that I will not accept any responsibility for any loss or damage that may happen to your computer, Kemper, house or country ;) just joking... tried this method few times and no harm was done.
I have read many times users asking for possibility to recover accidentally deleted rigs, there was even a request for UNDO feature for Rig Manager (well, there were multiple...)
The method I will present was checked with Rig Manager for Windows V.1.5.41.12185, KPA OS 4.0.6, for this demo I am using screenshots of Total Commander software (you an use file Explorer off course).

    1) In the directory "c:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\Kemper Amps\RigManager\Backups\" there are many files representing archived contents of your Profiler.
These files are archived on some regular basis or depending on when you make the changes to the rigs on your Profiler. In my case this directory looks like this:

    2) To restore any archived contents of your Kemper, create new folder i.e. "Recovery" in the folder "c:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\Kemper Amps\RigManager\Local Library\".

    3) Copy the archived file of your choice to recently created Recovery directory:

and rename this file to repository.db:

    4) Start Rig Manager and enjoy your recovered rigs:

  • I was chastised big-time 2 weeks ago for outlining a Monkey Method™ involving the Mac equivalent of this very-same folder, Skocz.

In my case, it only involved temporarily removing folders from the RigManager / Local Library folder, without altering anything, but as I suggested, the K-Team™ stated that this put one at risk of serious RM trouble down the track.

IOW, tampering with / copying to or from said folder is strictly verboten.

    Just letting you know, brother.
