KPA Profiler Remote "To Buy or Not to Buy"

  • Just buy ! (I just bought it day a go , and my use and experience of KPA get to another level in an hour of time )

KPA without Remote is like a woman without ass 8o

  • I got the LG-FCB for my FCB1010 a couple years ago and I haven't run across a situation that I can't program past. I can't see spending $500US when I can use my setup with two included expression pedals, plus it's nice to be able to program a pedal or switch to send whatever CC# or patch change you want to.
(P.S. I'll watch this next gig to see if there is any lag with the screen. V4.0.6)

I'm not knocking the Kemper Pedal, I'm sure it's great, it would just be a downgrade in my situation.

LOVE my setup! No problems here! Your Mileage May Vary (I don't do acronyms!)

    PEACE OUT!!

  • Bumping because I'm curious.
Which functions are accessible via the remote that can't be accessed with the 1010 with an uno chip?
Apart from the size, the somewhat flimsy feel of the stomp buttons and the, let's be honest, abysmal expression pedals (which I hardly ever use anyway) I think the 1010 seems to work splendidly with the kemper. Any reason to upgrade to a remote besides the screen and general feel? I mean, the price tag seems kind of hefty for a control unit.

  • I mean, the price tag seems kind of hefty for a control unit.

Specially for one you can only use with one device...
Similar solutions from other brands (e.g. Line6 Helix Control) are in the same price range anyway, so I don't think Kemper is overpricing here.
I guess it all comes down to whether you want a tailor made, hassle-free, out-of the-box solution for your device (and this comes at a price) or you want something you can use to control other devices as well (which implies some configuration effort and maybe a few compromises).
Having a complex setup, where I need to control many units via MIDI, the Kemper Remote wasn't really an option for me.

looks like a nice little option, pair it with a footswitch and expression pedal for a tidy setup. I have not seen these where I live, so no experience. But from reading the manual it looks to be decent for use with Kemper.[/quote]

They have an all in 1 here
