Hey Guys - first post ! The singer in out band likes to have us tuned down a half step - is there a way to do this with the Kemper tuner ? Cheers.

Set the chickenhead to TUNER and change the master tuning frequency.

Welcome!
I think you two are talking two different things
If you want to tune down to D# and so forth, the tuner works like any other tuner - you just look an rotate the tuning peg
I'm not sure I understand what you mean, though?

I think you do, Michael, and I agree.
Welcome, Jandave!

Exactly what I was thinking. It's a chromatic tuner, so if by "a half step" you mean a semitone, there's no need to change the master frequency. The Kemper will just as easily tune to D#, G#, C# etc. as to standard tuning, and automatically recognize and indicate these notes on the screen. If, on the other hand, you mean "half a fret" (a quarter tone), then you will have to lower the master frequency like Timo explained. Pretty bold move in that case, as it means you can't play with instruments that are hard to re-tune, like a piano, or have fixed standard (A=440) tuning like many electronic keyboards!

To set the reference frequence one halftone deeper you had to adjust A= 415,3 Hz
This is out of the range of the Kemper. With other tuners , if you have tuneable tempered instrument (Guit, Keyb) than it could work, with brass section and/ or string sections it would not be possible to use the same notes.

Cheers Guys - the TC Electronic tuner on my previous board could be set to any note then I could tune all strings from that - I'm just being lazy !! D# it is !!
