I have been gigging for decades and about 10 years ago, I decided that I HAD to simplify both my PA rig and my guitar rig. The PA moved from big folded horns, 15" 3-way tops, and an entire rack of heavy amps to a digital mixer and some powered speakers. That was first, because that technology moved first.
I tried out many digital amps and found that nothing at that time could hold a candle to my beloved VHT rig .... so I was stuck carrying some horridly heavy cabs, amp, and pedal board to all gigs.
Then came the KPA (thank God).
I promptly purchased the rack version as soon as it was available, put it into a rack, added a power conditioner, and away I went .... except it was still a PITA to plug in the KPA to the PA on dark stages without digging around through the back of the rack.
I have recently updated my KPA to include the Kemper Remote. This lowered my cable count down from the 3 connections (power, and 2 MIDI) needed to connect my FCB1010 to only 1 for the Kemper Remote and also lowered the stage footprint.
Just to tie a bow on the whole package, I setup a panel mount so that now EVERYTHING plugs flush into the panel mount and the entire rig is protected in a nice rack. I really wanted a solid stage setup with Ethercon connectors on both sides of the Kemper Remote cable.
