"Its good to know that old musicians can be really creative."
I think we are in the same age. Therefore I would like to repeate the words of the old Aristophanes:
To carry owls to Athens.
What kind of music are you listening to right now?

Yello and Drive by Truckers seem the max possible opposite. But both are just great music. Maybe like good books: creating moving pictures in my mind.
The truckers reminded my of that - somehow:

I've heard of the Truckers, but never Yello - very cool stuff. Thanks for introducing me to them @motochick. I'll have to check out more of their stuff. Any suggestions to look for?

Actually earlier in this thread someone was talking about Yello's current music, they go way back to 80's for me and I didn't know they were still making music so I have to catch up on some stuff myself

Wes is great! Almost we come to my time!
Interesting for me is the communication between Wes and the pianist. Great musician! -

I can suggest their album called Touch from 2009. They featured the ultra-cool trumper player Till Brönner. The driest trumpet (soundwise) I've ever heared. On good monitors I fear I'll get wet wet from Brönner's spit.

Now again something completely different. This is nothing for everyone but incredibly beautiful in my humble opinion.
Sometimes when I have my bouts again I hear music of the late 20s and early 30s.
At that time, we had some outstanding composers musicians and singers in Germany which impress me still today.
One of my favorite singers of this time is Joseph Schmidt. Born in the Ukraine, grew up in Hungary, Roumania and Austria. In Germany he became a great singer. He was a real European.
His music hit always the heart. Unfortunately, he died very young. He was hunted to death by the Nazis and died in Zurich as a refugee who got no help.
But he was an outstanding singer. That shows that the most people knows his songs (in German, English, Italian, French and Hebrew) and the melodies but can rarely mention his name now.
Here is a little less known piece of his songs but with a particularly beautiful arrangement as I think. And for this reason I will share it here.External Content youtu.beContent embedded from external sources will not be displayed without your consent.Through the activation of external content, you agree that personal data may be transferred to third party platforms. The new album from Doyle Bramhall II has been turning the last couple of days. What a guitar tone!
