Hoo boy, I heard this yesterday! Interesting voice over bit haha.
Raw instruments and honest lyrics.
Just got Reign in Blood vinyl in the mail...
Back to normal xD. Huge fan of this band.
I love The True Loves.
EWF meets '70s cop-movie soundtracks. Two of my favourite things combined into one!
EWF means ?
And Lalo Schifrin is imho the 70s cop-movie soundtrack.
EWF = Earth, Wind & Fire.
'70s cop-movie music is what I've always called the 2nd part of the blend, but I s'pose many would call it instrumental jazz funk or fusion funk. Think wah-guitar funk rhythms, awesome congas, snappy as well as "dissonant" brass lines, afro-fusion flute, classic '70s EP's and mono synth solos...
Even the Dirty Harry movies have some excellent stuff in 'em.
Artists I like in this "genre" might be:
African Music Machine
Atmosfear
Caesar Frazier
Christian Gaubert
Chuck Brown & The Soul Searchers (their instrumental stuff)
Daniel Salinas
David "Fathead" Newman
Dexter Wansel
Eero Koivistoinen Music Society
Eumir Deodato (a few genres, but excelled at this one)
Harvey Mason (he recorded in many other genres too, obviously, being a great session drummer)
Herbie Hancock (also did many genres, but he did this one well, if repetitively)
Kool & The Gang's early stuff
Les McCann
Norman Connors
Oliver Nelson
Oscar Brown Jr
Patrice Rushen
Roy Ayers
Spirit of Atlanta
The Voltage Bros
Young-Holt Unlimited
Non-guitar, non-Kemper, non-metal, non-rock, good tune
I love this version!
.....one of best Ballad
You got a hold of that one Jack. Well Played Sir.
Right now? Herbie Hancock, Headhunters - Vein Melter
Love how this guy covers the mexican classic:
Classic.
So I am watching one of these videos where a guy makes a perfect strat from the oak tree in the backyard using only an x-acto knife (and maybe a herring).
Anyway the background music was these guys from the Southern side of our planet - respect!
Great bassline, also love the tone of the bass. Never heard of them before, now I own We Rise
