HowTo: Sound effect of greenday's "boulevard of broken dreams" with kemper fx

  • Hi gang,

I 'm looking for a way to have the tremelo/chorus effect of Greenday's Boulevard of broken dreams with the kemper effects.
I think it is a tremelo/chorus with a square wave regulation. Ive checked my Kemper but I see no control parameter in either tremelo or chorus.
Is this at all possible with the Kemper effects or do I need an outboard effect?

    Greetings Kees.

    Hi @KeesHofwegen

Have you tried setting Depth of tremolo to higher values? It seems like it's fluctuating towards zero signal the higher Depth you set.

  • Yes I did but it is not so pronounced as it shoul be

    Thanks for thinking along

    Kees

Set Stereo to +90' and Crossover to 20.6
Like I said, when Depth is set to 10.0 the Tremolo operates between full and zero volume, so I can't imagine how can it be more pronounced...

  • Thanks it acceptable
Now for a tryout at rehersal

    HI @KeesHofwegen

Update: set the Stereo to 0' (zero) it's full mono effect then and it's more intense.

When the Stereo is 90' there is slight "delay" of second channel in stereo, that's why you don't feel it's that pronounced, because why one channel is at 0 (zero) another channel is not.

When Stereo is at zero both channels get 0 dB at the same time. And both channels are equally loud at the same time.

Try if that works better for you.

    From user's manual:

When you place the Tremolo in the Effects Section, where stereo signals can be created, it becomes a stereo panorama effect (“Auto Panner”). The intensity and character of the stereo effect can be controlled by the “Stereo” parameter; this determines the phase offset of the independent level modulations for the left and right sides. When you set “Stereo” to the middle position (zero value), both sides will be in phase, thereby creating a mono tremolo effect.

You can also place tremolo in STOMPS block (which is MONO), that way no need to set Stereo parameter (it is simply unavailable before amp).
