How to install/use new delays that came with OS 5 - instructions

  • Questions about delays that came with OS 5.0 update seem to be raised here quite frequently. So I created quick manual for beginners/newcomers/anyone surprised, that updating Profiler to 5.0 is not enough. There are 2 ways to entertain new delay presets:

    A) Importing new delays onto Kemper Profiler - traditional way

    1) Make sure you're running OS 5 - if you're running earlier version, updated to most recent OS version.

    2) Download "New Delay Demonstration Preset Pack (October 2016)" from Kemper webppage.

    3) Unpack downloaded "New Delays Demonstration Preset Pack.zip" to some folder on your computer.

    4) Copy all unpacked *.kipr files to "\Shared" folder on USB pendrive - pendrive must be formatted by Kemper prior to this step.

    5) Insert USB pendrive with copied presets into Profiler's USB socket, after a while press 3rd soft button over LCD with "Extrenal Storage" label, next "Import/Export", next "Import".

    6) After successful import, your new delay presets can be found, when you long press on FX stomp (for example DELAY) and start turning BROWSE knob - new presets names start with DLY prefix (observe Type column for Single Delay, Dual, Delay, Quad Delay...)

******** There are also presets "Pitch Shifter Delay Demonstration Presets (January 2017)" - importing procedure is similar, but OS needs to be at least 5.1.0 Public Beta *********

    B) Rig Manager 2.0 Public Beta - new delay presets available with Rig Packs

    1) Download and install Rig Manager 2.0 Public Beta

    2) Open Rig Packs folder in left panel of Rig Manager

    3) Go to "OS 5.1 Delay Update" folder and click on any of rigs to explore new delay presets:

  • Awesome tutorial man! Good job!

  • I just realised, that I published this in wrong subforum (Profiler Remote....) - any of moderators please kindly move this to "Profiler - Questions and Answers" or "Share tips and tricks".

  • Just got into the new delays, I think they're going to waste many many many hours of my time. They are just plain fun, each in a very different way. Thanks to the Kemper staff!

It is awesome that a single piece of hardware can continue to evolve to the point where each update brings refreshed curiosity, interest, and creative possibilities. It's like the Kemper is a different machine than when I first brought it home. Pretty cool.

  • Thanks Andy_T-V, that means I copy the appropriate rig into the KPA and store the delay module as preset manually, right? If there is any other more convenient way to store module presets than manually or usb, please let me know.

Go to the Kemper main website ---> Support ---> Download --> Category: Select "Factory Rig Packs"

There you will find the presets in a Rig Pack entitled "Pitch Shifter Delay Demonstration Preset Pack (Jan 2017)"

Download the .ZIP file to your computer. Unzip the file and copy the individual .kipr presets onto your Kemper formated USB Flash drive, by pasting them into the "Shared" folder/directory. Then Import them into your KPA via the USB drive.

When you have successfully imported the presets, they will now appear when you enable a delay module, and you can view and select them using the BROWSE knob.

There is also a step-by-step "Read Me" instructions (explaining the above) as a .pdf file, in the downloaded .ZIP file.

    Cheers,
    John

EDIT -- woops, I didn't re-read the entire thread, and was quickly responding only to your most recent question. This is an older thread, and I had forgotten that @skoczy had completely explained this in his original post. So, please disregard. I also missed the part that you were asking if there was an alternative way to import these delay presets directly, in lieu of using USB drive...and the answer to that is no. You have to use a USB drive to import preset-only .kipr files. Rig Manager will only allow you to import full blown Rigs.
