New external power amp options for Kemper Owners -- Seymour Duncan PowerStage

  • Just came across this product from Seymour Duncan. Looks like it might be just the ticket for those of you who have non-powered KPA units, and are interested in a high efficiency, lightweight, transparent Class D external power amp to power a guitar cabinet or passive FRFR monitor.

There are two models. A small, 100W unit that can fit on a pedal board:
    Seymour Duncan PowerStage 170

and a 700W model that fits in a single rack space:
    Seymour Duncan PowerStage 700

  • Really?

It seems like ever other day I was seeing threads inquiring about external power amps for the KPA. Now, all of a sudden...crickets. :P:D

    just kidding.

Anyways, I thought these looked cool (especially the PowerStage 170), and I am glad there are more options available. The ISP Stealth is another small form factor power amp.

    Cheers,
    John

  • This is very cool indeed. The rack unit is only 7lbs. Really interested in the small pedal board size, could make for a good back up.

It is great that there are some serious options out there, for a small footprint transparent (neutral) power amp that puts out a lot of power. Glad to see that companies are bringing products to the market that focus on linear amplification needs for the Kemper profiler and alternative digital modelers.

  • Have you guys seen the pedals they're making now? Power amp pedals... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QLfcdheokog
