Thank you, Mick.
Same setup as the 2018-08 offering, but a new-mic'ing situation of course, so bound to be different.

Did you use the SM57 / MD421 combo again?

yeah. Same mics as that older one. You have a good memory
I don’t think I used the Aurora audio mic pre then. (Don’t think I had it).
the Aurora gives beautiful fatness and smoothness so thus profile is big and not fizzy.
I also think the profiling algorithm has improved since then with none if the cocked wah sound that sometimes ended up in the profile.
Thanks for responding, Brother Mick.
Yeah, the mic's went into 2 Aurora GTQs and then on through a Sonnox EQ. It was a Merged Profile. You used a BSS AR133 DI box into a Focusrite ISA828 pre for the DI component.
As I suggested 'though, even if the chain was identical, different day, different circumstances, not least of which would be that the mic positions wouldn't have been identical unless you'd marked the cab and used the same locations throughout the past 2 years.
Thanks again brother.
This is a great free profile.
The EVH is really tight and a tubescreamer can be too much low cut but the OCD drive is a great boost for it.

906 is smoother with more mids and sounds more like the amp in the room.
A 57 makes all high gain amps sound similar but with the 906 you can hear more of the subtle differences between amps.
for live use the 906 is great because of the full mids and also doesn’t have the high mid “ice pick” of the 57.
I always try both mics when I’m recording a band and lately the 906 keeps getting picked.
Another kick ass free profile !
