Kemper Reverb Stomp Profiler

  • Hey,

I know there are many requests about a spring reverb. Of course that would be fine.
But what about a different approach:adding the ability of profiliing a reverb?
    Assume:
Stage 1 of profiling a reverb: send a dry (guitar) signal to the profiler
Stage 2: Add the to the dry signal your favourite reverb e.g. a spring reverb or lexicon 224 or... and start profiling again.
Stage 3: the kemper creates a reverb stomp that you can later use like a normal reverb preset.

Don't know if this is possible but maybe a genius like Christoph Kemper can this.
    What do you think?

  • If this approach is possible with reverb, it is possible with nearly every stomp. Won't be easy. Probably using very short peaks during profiling in addition to the given approach. Time and modulated FX-profiling should be quite tricky but would be very cool.

  • AFAIK either a full-spectrum spike or sine-wave sweep can be used to generate impulse-response files. These can then be used by convolution algorithms to generate 'verbs, delays and so on.

The Kemper would have to have this completely-different paradigm of sound capture added to it, a big ask, but probably not altogether-impossible. Much will depend upon available DSP post-Profile playback and the team's ability to justify the move.

Who knows what sort of power and variety will be available with the introduction of new 'verbs, should that happen? Your request just might be rendered(!) redundant by the introduction of new 'verb algorithms.
