Happy Canadian Thanksgiving 
I have a room with the dimensions: 14' x 8' x 8' (height)
I wish to purchase studio monitors and to treat the room for acoustics.
What is the "rule" concerning monitor/speaker size adjusted for room dimensions? The Yamaha HS series is in my price range, but that line comes in the 5, 6.5 and 8" speaker sizes. How large does the room have to be for the HS5's to be "too small"?
I am what you would call a serious amateur, but I am not a professional producer or sound guy. I simply want to convert a room in my house to something semi-respectable.
