You can make DI profiles, not DA profiles with that box.
-
what is the difference from a di and da profile? sorry, i am noob
-
DI Profile: You profile the FX send (the preamp) of your amp.
Direct Amp Profile (DA Profile): You hook up a di box between the head and cab, and you profile that. For you to be able to make Direct Amp Profiles (DA Profiles) you will need a di box that can handle speaker signal.
I use the DBX db10.You should also read the manual

Interesting....I always took a DI profile to be the amp with no cab and a studio profile to be the amp and cab. A preamp only profile was just that - a preamp profile.

Kemper manual uses the general term direct profiles and then differentiates / shows several examples. "The Direct Amp Profile is the most relevant kind of Direct Profile..." page 28.
I can not find the acronym "DA Profile" anywhere in the manual. So this is a bit misleading.
And no, the j48 can not handle the high ouput level from speaker out (to cab). If you want to capture the signal between the amp (head) and speaker cab you need a di-box that is designed for that. Look at the JDX 48 to see the difference - and yes, manual can help too
EDIT: GRStudios is right: Forget about the JDX48, it has a speaker emulation filter on the output.

DA Profile is short for Direct Amp Profile

The JDX48 will not work because it has a filter to emulate the tone of a 4x12 half stack cabinet on the output.

The inexpensive Behringer GI100 will work well.

I did understand, but honestly never heard someone call it so. Even sellers say "direct profiles" or sell "DI Packs", meaning of course NOT only preamp.

That is true! I had in mind, the speaker sim could be turned off. But it is not possible! The inexpensive Behringer GI100 will work well.
Yes, I used the Behringer too.At the moment I use an A/DA GCS-3 Guitar Cabinet Simulator - here you CAN turn off speaker sim

Maybe it's just me, but I think it's important to differ between the two ways of making a Direct Profile (FX out and between amp and cab).

thanks guys. i appreciate the input. so would there be no difference between the berringer and kemper dibox in quality?

BSS AR133 works great and handles speaker level no problem.
Much better box than the behringer. -
Hi,
I use this DI for all my Direct profiles and works well, very cheap but linear.
