Hi,
my name is Frank. I bought my Kemper about a month ago after a two-year-phase of reflecting about justifying that much money for a really good sound when the old line 6 pod hd is still doing the job and me having a family to feed. I must say, changing to the Kemper was worth every cent - and my wife agrees! When I started thinking about changing to a Kemper I listened extensively to youtube recordings and all kinds of audiofiles in tests and I was not only interested in the concept of Kemper but I listened to so many great sounds, so many interesting profiles that I finally went for it. And having the Kemper at home and using it in band rehearsals exceeds my expectations. At the moment I have the impression that I have found so many profiles that just fit to what I am doing without even putting effort into it. Wow!
When I used the pod, it took me days - sometimes weeks - to make a decent sounding amp sound the way I wanted it to be and I was only close enough to feel comfortable, not close at any rate to the real thing. With the Kemper everything feels so natural when playing it. Putting effects into the signal chain, making equalizers do what I want (and not what a programmer thought would come handy) is easy. I have slight difficulties with modulation effects because they somehow react completely different to the ones in the Line 6 oder its predecessor the roland vg-88.
I play in a cover band and direct two school bands. So the Sherlocks amongst you know now my profession. I also compose a bit, play around with Cubase but don't have much time for that.
A big big praise to you, the community: I browsed through this forum and I have read so many constructive and helpful posts, most of them very structured and intelligently written. I could get so many answers without even having to ask the right questions. Thanks for that! Keep that attitude alive guys, the result is a real jewel.
Cheers
Frank
