controlling 2 Kemper with one midi floorboard ?

  • hi guys,

I was wondering about something .

It is possible to control, in performance/life, 2 Kemper with one midi floorboard?
for example, i have an Engl poweramp , stereo, I wonder if it is possible to connect to it 2 kemper ( i guess yes ) but for the controlling ? maybe using the midi "thru" ?

the goal is to have 2 different clean sounds, 2 crunchs, 2 rythm etc

    thank you :)

  • Hi

Wouldn't you just connect the floorboard to Kemper A and then the Midi out from Kemper A to the Midi in on Kemper B. This is how I control my Kemper to automatically change patches on my Vl3x.

You would then just need the midi chart.

I'm not sure if the Ethernet can be split between the two with a splitter. Whilst this will work for sending the signal I'm unsure of how it would respond to the power sent to the Kemper foot controller.

Just an idea as I don't own two Kempers.

    Hope you find a solution.

  • Any MIDI controller that can send separate PCs on multiple MIDI channels can do it. Assign each KPA its own MIDI channel, use the MIDI thru on the first KPA into the MIDI in on the second, and Bob's your uncle. Controlling the effects (on/off with CCs) is also possible.
