Line 6 has a very good reputation when it comes to effects. It's closer to Axe than Kemper. While the KPA has some interesting delays, it's certainly no effects juggernaut and people seem to more commonly "live" with the built in effects rather than feel they are top shelf. Of course, all things are a matter of opinion, but the HX Effects will no doubt be a great mutli-effects pedal at a more modest price and smaller package. Even the old Line 6 effects stuff is pretty well received and I've encountered a number of people who have happily used POD floorboards solely for the built in effects. I work with a guy who also uses a KPA but with a Line 6 effects pedal solely because the KPA can't replicate the effects he most commonly uses. His biggest gripe used to be that the KPA couldn't do those effects to be a true "all in one" for him and still had to hook up 1 pedal, but he's since reworked his setup to where he can keep the Line 6 plugged in and stored in the back of a rack.

The only effect on the Helix that was better than the KPA equivalent was the Univibe model (though there are some interesting drives; however, they’re unnecessary with the right profile). It really is extremely convincing and made me consider keeping the Helix just for that, haha! I think the main problem for folks who compare the KPA effects unfavourably is more the parameters. The Helix effects all look and behave (somewhat) like their physical pedal counterparts, whereas the KPA effects usually have unfamiliar-sounding parameters. Once you realise how they correlate to each other and translate to the real-world effects’ parameters, you can achieve the same results (and some that you couldn’t with the real versions).

HelixFX will have (imo, obviously) better drives. And verbs probably, with the new update. It has a pretty solid synth block as well. I just didn't like the modeling last time I tried it.

[Blocked Image: http://cyfrowogitarowo.pl/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/L6HXback-e1516734518922.jpg]It looks like it has all the necessary inputs and outputs to put some effects before the stack and some after. I just have to figure out how to do it. Most folk I'm running into say the Helix effects are, for the most part, better than those in the Kemper. I'll probably pick one up (after someone else posts a video using this with the Kemper)

Oh that is sweet. You can use it in a stereo amp setup. I think I'll be getting one. Probably offload more gear before people catch on.

It has midi, so count me in!

Mine is on the way.

Nice! If I didn't already have the M9 for my Mark V, I would get this.

Does anyone know if this box could be used to control the kemper (for example switch rigs or control switching in performance mode) AND switch kemper effects on and off AND utilize the onboard Line6 effects at the same time?

Pretty sure it can, but wait for more details and a manual to come out. It hasn't even been released yet.

^there's the manualThanks! After browsing through that, the device should be able to change presets on the Kemper just fine. You can send six messages simultaneously, if I understood correctly. I wish the layout had five buttons in a row though.

Also handy to note:
Impulse Responses are mathematical functions representing the sonic measurementsof speci c audio systems (for the HX E ects device, acoustic guitar body resonanceor speaker cabinet and microphone combinations). The HX E ects device can loadand store up to 128 custom or third-party IRs at a time.
And:
For more sophisticated tones, a parallel (two stereo paths) signal ow can be cre-ated. This lets you split the signal into two stereo paths, process each separately, and mix the two back together.
And this one @ashtweth
Double Take Mono, Stereo Line 6 Original Though one video I saw says It's really bad.

so if this box could be used for front and fx loop effects AND can control the amp... it will be a Kemper remote killer

Hmm, I'm very interested to see how well this works with the kemper. It might be time to sell the Remote and swap it out for the HX Effects.

you could save some cabling hassles, use a clean profile on the Kemper and run dirt and all fx from the HX.

What cabling hassles? The HX FX can do 4CM, so you just put the profiler in its loop and do all pre- and post- amp FX routing as always. Even the profiler's own FX remain fully functional this way.
