electric and acoustic trough front input

  • The Return is not a regular guitar input. The Alternative In could be used as such. But the Front Input has always the right of way, even if the Alternative In is selected as the Input Source. So you would need to unplug the TS-jack from the Front Input to make the Alternative In work in its capacity as guitar input. Not very practical.

An AB-switch is the way to go. The Morley is simple and cheap. For example Lehle offers better quality and sophistication. Lehle switches can be controlled via MIDI. If you have set up Performances corresponding to your songs, you could assign MIDI program changes by Slot. When you then load the first Slot of that Performance, this would trigger the Lehle to activate the appropriate guitar.

  • You could put a tuner (one that mutes when active e.g. TC) in line before the Kemper.

So, starting with Gtr A: activate tuner (muted), unplug, swap to Gtr B, plug, (check tuning), Unmute and off you go.

This avoids multiple leads, having to label them, potential tangles and also allows a greater number of instruments than the number of switcher channels available

Yes, I have tried the Switcher routine (Lehle) but found it a PITA!

    just a thought

  • Hi Pierluigi
If you have the remote, just set your tuner to mute signal when engaged and then swap your guitars. Noiseless.
If you use IEMs you can then use a TC Electronics combined guitar and headphone cable to send guitar signal to your KPA and receive the monitor mix to your ears. Very neat cable which saves you buying a wireless system!
Monitor feed can also be sent to KPA (less guitar signal) either mono or stereo now (thanks CK) and you can mix your guitar in through the output menu options in stereo.
I'm pretty sure other midi controllers can activate the tuner/mute, even a single mono toggle (latching) switch should do that, if plugged into pedal input 1 or 2 if you don't have the remote. You can assign tuner to a separate switch.

    From the manual...

    Additional Switches Required?
Switches can be connected to both Profiler and Profiler Remote. Switching functions can be assigned globally. Such functions are Rig up/down, activating/deactivating stomps and effects, engaging the tuner, tapping the tempo, or triggering Beat Scanner temporarily.

    Hope this helps.
    Kind regards
