ToastME Editor doesn't work for me (solved)

  • Bought a Roland UM-One from list of tested devices that work. Hooked it up per video. Device = UM-One for input, controller and output. Channel = one for input, controller and output. KPA MIDI set to channel one. Get proper lights on UM-One. The Kemper goes silent when starting ToastME. The ToastME program communicates properly with KPA as the editor seems to function properly (Kenper responds to editor changes).

No sound from Kemper. Shut down ToastME. Still no sound from Kemper. Reboot Kemper. Kemper seems to work properly (sound is working). Restart ToastME. Kemper goes silent. Very repeatable.

    Any ideas?

    Update:
Start KPA -- start Toast ME --kills sound
Start ToastME -- start KPA -- everything works
Start KPA (MIDI cables disconnected) - Start ToastME -- connect MIDI cables - everything works
Start KPA (USB disconnected) - Start ToastME - connect USB - UM-One does not connect to KPA

Seems like there is something in the ToastME initialization that is corrupting the KPA.

    Update 2:
Verified Output settings do not change when sound is lost.
Tried "Init Globals" after sound is lost to ToastME start-up. Does not restore sound.
Only KPA restart seems to restore sound.
Do not have to "connect" (soft button in program) ToastME to lose sound. Just start program.

  • Windows 10, latest KPA beta and ToastME 1_28. Tried ToastME 1_29 but it didn't work either plus inverse cab/amp didn't work.

    Message from Damian:

Temporary solution until bug is fixed (remember: still in beta!):

"In 1.28 propably midi message is sended during startup (snapshot option in ctrlr) that is enabling amp auditoring in the profile tab. Solution is to switch to KPA there. Or use chicken knob to switch to profiler ant then back to browse"
