I normally play in a small club and just run direct to front of house and use IEM for my sound. But this weekend I have a show at an outdoor venue and I want to run direct to FOH and use a powered FRFR monitor on stage.
I'll be running both in mono and my KPA is the unpowered version.
My question is(and I assume I run my left main output to FOH)
Where do I connect my powered monitor cable and should I use an instrument cable or a speaker cable for this connection.
Thanks all. I'm guessing this is a pretty simple question and I appreciate any help you can offer on the subject.
Have an outdoor gig and want to run direct to FOH and a powered monitor onstage at the same time

I'd run the main out to the board and the monitor out to the powered monitor. Instrument cable is fine since it's not high current.
If you had the powered version driving a passive speaker you'd need a speaker cable to handle it.

The monitor out solution abpove will offcourse enable you to use seperate volumes and monitor cab off option from the Kemper.
For a more hocus-pocus solution: If that wouldn't for some specific case not be possible (ie using an FX loop), most active fullrange monitors have XLR loop throughs (which internally is just parallel wired), so you can go from kemper to monitor to FOH. If that isn't the case, you can make a passive Y cable... Hmm, just make sure there is no phantom power coming from the mixer, the Kemper can handle it, but maybe not your monitor. If that would be the case you can still use a DI.

Solved and thanks fellas. Just what I needed.

This, plus it needs to be shielded, which a speaker cable isn't. DON'T use speaker cable from monitor out to a powered cab.
Also, unlink your Main out from the master volume and set Main outs about -12dB -
Hey Gizmo thanks for the info. If I may, how does one "unlink" Main from master?
I'll take a look and see if I can figure it out on my own but any advice would be most appreciated. Thanks again. Cheers. -
Output menu page 2 --> soft-button 1 (Main out link)
You are able to link and unlink the different outputs to master volume in this menu. -
SOLVED
and thanks again. I actually figured this out all by myself last night. Proud hippie here (~):-} -
Have a good gig. -
