I didn't install the beta firmware...
I tried 5.4 , 5.3 and even 4.2
rebooted directly from usb so not even through "OS update"
Nothing seems to work
As far as I can tell the solve is here @breu.
To fix this please start the Profiler into Browse mode while pressing down the RIG button until you see "Initialising current rig" in the display.

Unfortunately it isn't....same message appears
Oh man, sorry that didn't work Bert. I guess following up with support is the best method sir. I haven't seen anything related to this for some time. I sincerely hope you get it figured out quickly.

Yes, please open a support ticket.
The error message clearly indicates, that 5.3.0 Public Beta is currently running - at least trying to. Our current release revision is 5.4.1 Release. Not a good idea to stay on or downgrade to a Public Beta, while a more recent Release revision does exist.
I found the solution
Rebooted from usb to 5.4 by don’t putting kaos.bin in the OS share folder.
Unfortunately the same message appeared but the 5.4 firmware was installed.
Did a flash reboot and re-installed factory settings by pressing knob 1 above the display when starting up.
That solved my problem
Sweet, thanks for letting us know and congrats!
That's great, Bert.
I know how this tech stuff can freak you out a bit.
