Straight please!
Sorry I've not been feeling too well the past couple days (will get this to you soon - promise!) as I suffered an industrial injury a couple years back (actually when GoT had just been launched which was a real frustration... And I've never even received any compensation for it and have just had to get on with things, perhaps even more frustratingly! Anyways I digress, I will get it to you, please just be aware I have bad days sometimes... And not only because of the injury)
Best,
GoT

Been playing around with this one a little, some nice tones...any words on updates?
Soon for sure...
Why not?!? Love this amp.
Only, would have to put some thought into / collate some ideas of what to include as the pack already provides a really great cross-section of the amp I feel... -
Straight please!
Hooked up! - again, apologies for the delay...

How could I forget...?! (We sell other packs! )
...
If you're liking these tones - be sure to check out the Friedmans (Butterslax & Phil-X) guarantee they will blow your mind!
I'd never heard anything like it... And that's coming from the ridiculously hi-end range already in the stable !
And there's way more profiles available in said packs - as have owned those amps a lot longer than the VHT UL (which is relatively new by comparison...) anywho, there'll be more to come from this beauty rest assured

Hi GOT,
As promised here my review for the freebee!
I've testen the VHT with different playbacks and here is where the profile shines, a lot of harmonics and clarity.
For live situations I was missing some 'meat' and growl in the mid low frequencies. I tried to edit the profile with diffenent parameters to fatten it up but was missing a little punch which I remembered from my VHT pittbull classic.
Again, a very good profile but not for me for playing live in a band.
Thanks for the freebee and all the best.
Marcel

Sure thing fella! Just a few things to note here:
This was a lead/rhy/boost profile with the bass dialed back...
The Pittbull is an UL not CL (ie. Ultra Lead, not CLassic - so more likely to deliver lead-esque tones - but it's also the flagship & most sought-after VHT and moreover this one comes with the added graphic EQ also to boot...)
The graphic EQ I've actually set to a 'V' shape (I'll post a photo of the settings for the profile in due course...) and this could be the reason for the low/mids you're referring to for this particular profile (I can't remember if this was engaged though - so will have to check the photo documentation firstly - but the bass was definetly not max'd on the Ch itself)
These (2) freebie options were produced simply for the setting up stage of the Dual 57s (one-by-one but then in unison, in order to get a great blend between the duo...) and the single options aren't as meaty as the pairing (available existing in the other profiles in the pack - as purchasers of the pack will likely be able to attest to!)
Ie. Single profile whereas the pack contains duals which are even more chewy :p
Lastly, if you want BEEF with your gain, I'd highly recommend picking up the Friedman. Butterslax pack... Or, we can perform Custom profiles in the GoT Custom Shop if you're only into the VHT
-
ps. What pickup(s) are you running..?
Also, perhaps it's more mix-ready suited as it's common for the bass to bring the low-end (including live) - which I forgot to mention above!
Pps. Thanks for the mention of harmonics & clarity - appreciate it - all about those harmonics and things not being muddy!

Hi GOT,
Thanks for the explanation ! I use a strat with a JB seymour duncan humbucker.
You're right, my expierience in the studio is that an extra mic give some extra beef, we use up to 4 mics to get the right blend;)
I play in a rock band and we play some 80's 90's covers from AC/DC,Journey, Metallica,Toto, ect
The guitar sound is very important and must be fat and punchy.
Sometimes I miss my homemade build amp who sounds verrrry good.
Its a shame that I've not profiled the amp;)
Tip! I use an old shure unidyne 545 witch is very different from a sm57 it has more 'sound ,beef 'then a sm 57.
Also a Heil PR 30 mic is a good combo with the shure 545, the Heil sounds more 'open' hifi' where the sm545 has perfect mids.
Perfect marriage!
All the best,
Marcel

Here's how the graphic EQ is set (I haven't messed with it/adjusted it since the day I picked the amp up...) though I can't remember whether or not it was activated in the profiling, will have to check photos (as explained in quote above!)

Also, there's a load of 'TONE SHIFT' / 'BRIGHT' / 'BOOSTS' / 'EDGE' etc. available on this wonderful amp - a tweaker's wet dream!
So, again, they will all have their own influence on the shape of the resultant sound... -

No probs! So upon checking the photo docs of the actual pack, can confirm the graphic-EQ wasn't engaged ...
https://scontent-lhr3-1.xx.fbc…1d46061478735&oe=5CA1DE96
Though, I can't recall if this was the case during setting up of the individual mics for the dual profiles... (I imagine it again, was not engaged for these single mic profiles but can't confirm 100% at this time...)
The profiles in the pack as it stands are dual mic'd and have seen refinement with a SD '59 (for cleans) and SD JB (all) so should be even more-so well- / accurately represented via your JB PU ...
Have a PR30 as it happens -- though it hasn't featured in this particular pack, as of yet...
Cheers!
ps. If you dig the DC, check out the FRIEDMAN PHIL-X beast : http://gameoftonesprofiles.wix…tprofiles/friedman-phil-x -
Soon for sure...
Why not?!? Love this amp.
Only, would have to put some thought into / collate some ideas of what to include as the pack already provides a really great cross-section of the amp I feel...In-light of the above...
A lightbulb has gone off -apparently the cross-section doesn't have enough low-mids for certain applications
...
Perhaps will engage the graphic EQ and get some MEATIER MEATY BEEFY LOW-END stuff profiled for the next round in this pack \m/ not sure when that will be, but it's nice to refresh the brain with what the amp has to offer when you suffer 'amp choice paralysis' and begin compiling ideas for the next batch haha!

Haha, I like it!
