Stupid question - Can you profile an amp with a pedal in the chain

    Whilst I know you can't profile a pedal, I assume you can't profile an amp with say a tube screemer or other OD pedal in front of it?


    Just wondered as I saw a band last week and the guitar sound was excellent. He was using a 5150 BUT he has an overdrive pedal on constantly.


    Would be great if I could just profile his sound in that set up...


    I should know the answer to this but wasn't totally sure and I don't do much profiling myself now.

    no problem with a drive, OD , preamp , boost whatever gain related . Lots of people do it on each profiling session here.


    Only exceptions are pedals or amps with built in noise gates, most lead to profiling problems if noise gate is engaged.
