Connecting Kemper Rack Via USB C to MacBook

I have a new Kemper rack and I’m looking for the best way to connect it to my 2017 MacBook Pro. Two questions: can both the rear USB B port and the front USB A port be used to connect to rig manager?

Does anyone have recommendations on a usb c to either A or B that will work or am I stuck using an adapter?
