Static Sounds, Help Needed. Fixed.

Hi All,

I have been having static sounds when monitoring or recording via SPDIF.

Kemper is set to master and I don't believe there is clipping. I turned down the SPDIF volume on the Kemper and it did not help.

The static is not present via headphones.

Of course I will file a support ticket if necessary but I'd rather solve this without bothering them as they are busy.

My OS is Spring Reverb Preview.

Could it be the pups ot tone controls are picking up the A/C or lights from your house - EMI? Is it only when you are close to the KPA, what happens if you are 6-8 feet away, any difference?

I will check, but it doesn't do it through headphones. Only SPDIF as far as I can tell.

That's odd it's not in the cans as well? Perhaps another set of cables might do it, probably worth a shot. PITA I know, sorry Tim, not sure what else it could be?

Is the interface set to USE the Kemper as the master clock?

Clocking errors often cause clicks rather like ‘static’

It is, I even triple checked...

Haven't tried the cable swap yet but I kinda wondered if it could be due to the # of rigs on there. Probably not but there are 900.

I had the same. With me it was what Whitmann said. Sometimes the cable was a bit loose too.

Possibly fixed. I reseated the SPDIF cables and so far so good.
