The files are small you don't need a big stick 256M is plenty.
You might take this opportunity to post in the Introduce Yourself section for a proper gang affiliation initiation. -
I read that you can update the profiler via rig manager. Is this possible?

yes, absolutely

The only reasons I can think of right now for using a USB stick are:
1) Transfer to the Kemper of Cabs (or converted IR's) that don't already exist in Rigs.
2) Transfer to the Kemper of FX and stomp presets that don't already exist in Rigs.
3) Creation of a .kpabackup file on the Kemper for storage on the 'puter (or on the stick, kept somewhere safe). You can also use the stick to transfer Cabs, FX and stomps to the computer (for storage or "thinning") by "expanding" the .kpabackup archive.

I use a 2 GB mini USB stick which is permanently plugged into the KPA.
Enough space for multiple backups. -
Yup.
I'm naughty 'cause I rename my backups with more-descriptive names on my computer and end them with dates. That way, no matter how long the names, the dates are easily-seen in the "contracted" form displayed in the KPA window.
I don't think the K-Team™ would approve of this, but I haven't encountered any "complications" thus far. That said, I'm fully aware that if I lose any data it'll be my fault and my fault alone.

This is perfectly fine, renaming the backups is a good thing. The Profiler just does not allow you to name it before the backup to allow a lean workflow and encourage you to create backups more often.

Thank you, Timo! Great to know, mate.
Also, good strategy on Kemper's part to remove the naming step in the backup-save sequence, IMHO.

Yep, I use a 2 GB USB stick too
Two folders inside:
1- my Kemper back ups
2- for pornG Force
-
2- for porn
Naked guitars?
-
Yep 2gb but mainly use for IR or stomp presets. The rest I sort through rig manager. Backups to laptop and sent to Dropbox as added protection if the laptop ever fails.
-
Thanks for the help everybody. I got a 2 GB For very cheap and downloaded the latest OS software on it and plugged it in and it updated automatically. I appreciate everybody. Now if I can figure out how to hook this damn thing up so I can play through it.

Through the years the Default Monkey Method™ has been to connect the holes on two devices with cords in a random fashion. If nothing is heard, start swapping them around randomly (this is important) until you hear something. Kinda works for the most part.

2- for porn2G is simply not enough; you need 3TB+ for that shit, brother.
