I have very limited space on my desk and the only way I can easily access the Kemper rack is if I stack my ~12lb PC monitor on top of it. The metal casing on the unit appears to be pretty sturdy but I just wanted to check to see if this is a common practice or if anyone has done the same thing. My suspicion is that this isn't a big deal at all but given how expensive the unit is I don't want to take any chances at the moment. 
Is it safe to stack things on top of the Kemper Rack?

Well, despite the casing probably going to survive this, I suspect it wasn't designed for this, but if you would worry about, why not build a small wooden shelve which goes over the rack, and is reinforced, to hold your monitor?

I use Craftsman Rubber blocks on each corner, between the Kemper and my SurgeX.

Do not put it on the floor bro! Get a small side table for it or secure a shelf on the wall?

Thanks 808. Ki went a bit crazy with it though. The pull out rails for the keyboard can handle 250kg - even I don’t pound the keys that hard
PandaKO even in a dorm room you should be able to make a stand of some sort to put the monitor on. It doesn’t need to be permanent. I would go for some books/bricks/yoga bricks/etc spaced wider than the KPa to provide the height then just sit a bit of plywood/mdf/Ikea Shelving (anything really) as a bridge between the supports. Slide KPA underneath and sit monitor on top. When ypu leave the room the “stand” can go in a bag or box and leave with you.

If you're going to spend 2k on a piece of gear you should be able to afford $100 for a rack case to put it in.
