  • Hardware configuration

To use this EDITOR you will need a good, solid MIDI interface!

You can use regular midi cables if your computer/audio interface boasts both Midi In and Midi Out ports or you can use a midi-to-USB cable.

WARNING: Do not buy cheap no-name USB to MIDI interfaces! Whilst they may support basic Midi PC and CC, Toast ME uses SYSEX data messages to communicate with your Kemper, which is often not supported by cheap Midi to USB interfaces.

Interfaces that will work with SYSEX messages:

    • M-Audio Uno

    • M-Audio Profire 2626

    • M-Audio MIDISPORT UNO

    • M-Audio MIDISport 2X2 USB Bundle

    • Yamaha UX 16 USB/MIDI interface

    • Roland Um-One

    • ESI Midimate EX

    • ESI Midimate II

    • AVID/M-Audio Fast Track Pro (latest drivers from AVID)

    • Motu 823 mk3

    • Miditech MIDIface 4x4

    • Focusrite Scarlett 6i6 1 gen

    • Focusrite Scarlett 6i6 2 gen

    • RME FireFace UC

    • M-Audio Audiophile 192

    Interfaces that will not work:

    • LogiLink® Adapter USB to Midi In-Out

    • Proster 6Ft 2M USB to MIDI Interface Cable Adapter

    Install notes

@tijlcarrein created a series of videos in which he go through the installation procedure and how to hook up your Kemper by midi and how to configure the Toast ME software to enable bi-directional full SYSEX Midi communication between your computer and the Kemper Profiling Amp.

  • Troubleshooting

    • M-Audio Uno, MIDISport 2X2, MIDISport 4X4

There was some muted MIDI output issues with M-Audio drivers. Those interfaces work well with native os drivers.

To try native drivers, you have to uninstall the M-audio drivers:

    Uninstallation for Windows:

    • KPA freeze after connection with uart TX char error : Try to uncheck "Download Rig List On Connect" in settings tab.
  • Yes same here ,THANK YOU again. worth saying it

Don't get all the whiners who would complain about an Editor when there was a great one available . Really makes it great to edit all settings in the KPA

    Toastme is really great!

  • Thank you!

Larger text for combobox fx list or right-click menu fx list?

The window that comes up when I click in "FX Type" "FX Preset Browse" on the AMP page.

The list is a very small font and I wish it could be larger.

These lists are the heart of being able to use the abundant resources of the Kemper.

    Thanks!

I will try ro incerease font size. For now you can use right click (menu) anywhere on FX area to chose FX type or FX preset .

These are the same lists only grouped into categories and have a larger font size.

  • Hi there!

I'm quite new to the Kemper family. To get easier access to the kemper I've installed Toast Me on my Mac an bought a ESI Midimate eX cable.

The cable works fine, but I have a problem with the configuration, since the Midimate shows up on my mac with Connector 1 and Connector 2. I've connected the cable named 1 to Kempers MIDI Out and the 2 to Kempers MIDI IN. In Toast me I've configured Connector 1 for Input and Connector 2 for Output. Seems to work at the moment, but I'm struggling how to configure the MIDI Controller in Toast ME. Which cable is the right to configure?

    Thanx in advance

MIDI Controller is only for externall MIDI Controller so you can leave "none" selection or select the same device as input .

  • Something is not working right for me

I can connect to the Kemper with Toast
When I hit tuner or browse on Toast, it does change on the Kemper
So the software is connected to the Kemper

But the currently selected preset never shows up in the amp section
    See my screen shot

Rig manager works fine. I am able to select and change presets on the Kemper
My Midi in and out device is a Mia Midi and it all works correctly with my Behringer FCB1010

  • Hi , connect button works no matter what. So it is no idication if it is connected or not. Did you set up MIDI with MIDI button right to the connect button?

Send me a mail : [email protected] or pm on the FB ( https://www.facebook.com/toastMidiEditor/ ). I will help you.

Thanks, my mia midi is set as input and output. It may have something do do with my midi cable routing. I have a behringer FCB 1010 in the midi chain. I'll mess with it again tomorrow

  • Thanks, I re-routed my midi cables directly from my interface to the Kemper in and out and it works now

I have to have two connections to the FCB1010 because I program it via the PC
I have to send and receive patch dumps to and from the FCB1010

    I'll work on that later
    Thanks for your help
