Hi, I am using a Nektar Pacer to control the Kemper remotely and it doesn't seem to be able to control via the usb input in version 5.7.2.
Is this a bug or was MIDI via USB a feature that never was meant to be working? Is there a way to download earlier firmware versions? 5.6 or 5.5?

I don't think it was designed that way. You have to use MIDI(not USB) port of Nektar Pacer to control the KPA.
-
Hmm, it isn't documented in the manual, but it did work fine until the release of the new firmware.
Guess I have to dig out an old MIDI cable -
Which USB port in KPA did you used ? I am very suprised if that thing worked for you with USB connection.

The front USB input on the Kemper Rack

I'm wondering why you would use USB at all? Cable length is limited to 15 feet, it's super easy to damage the cable, port- one wrong kick and you're screwed. MIDI is designed for this...

Hi, this is correct: midi over USB is an experimental feature, which is enabled in beta versions only. We are checking-out the possibilities of this technology but don't want our support department overloaded with potential questions about this.
Using midi over USB has the advantage of using a remote controller with 1 cable only, and not needing batteries or AC-power adapter

kpahuitsing nice feature. As i understand kpa is a usb host for usb midi devices.

Yes, the kpa acts as usb host in this case. And before you ask: kpa as standard usb device (still) is not in the works, sorry

You are reading in my mind This is no longer meaningful considering the work on the official editor. However, for DAW automation it would still be a useful tool.
