Cabinet settings (high-shift, etc) change sound of monitor out, even with monitor cab off.

  • Hi,

I'm not sure if this is new but it occurs in the most recent release OS, 5.7.4.14373. I've got my unpowered Kemper with the monitor out connected to a solid state power amp powering a guitar speaker cab. The monitor out is set to Monitor Cab Off. I've also got the S/PDIF output, set to main out, going to my audio interface. The KPA's cab is on on that output. When I change the cab settings such as high shift, low shift and character I can hear the changes on the real speaker connected to the power amp and monitor out. Shouldn't that output be independent of the cab settings?

    Thanks,

    Brian

  • I got a response from customer support. This is normal behavior.

"Minor changes of these parameters should not be audible on the monitor and speaker out, but yes, bigger changes are noticeable and unavoidable by design."

  • Yeah. I think we've been there before but the response still make me a bit uncomfortable :)
