Direct Output and Effects loop simultaneously.......

  • I am using the "Direct Output" and "Monitor Output", as stereo left and right outputs, for my guitar cabs (cab mon off), which is excellent, for controlling individual volumes in the stereo spread.

Question is, if I want to use the Direct Output for the Effects loop send, is there a way to retain my Direct Output signal for one side of the stereo spread, and SIMULTANEOUSLY use a a/b/y splitter (Connected BEFORE the Direct Output) to also feed the effects loop slot?

It seems if I use the effects loop function, I sacrifice one side of my stereo rig...... (Main outs for two powered cabs are in use as well)

    ----------------------------

    After all the tests,

no, that wont work. Stereo spread is lost.

Solution is to go back the way I had it originally.

  • The DIRECT OUT can either be paired with the MONITOR OUTPUT or be used for an effect loop, not both at the same time. If you wouldn't use guitar cabs and wouldn't need to switch off the cabinet simulation selectively you could use the HEADPHONE OUT for monitoring instead. But with your guitar cabs you have to choose.
