Hi All,
Looking for suggestions for pedals.
Thanks!
AFAIK, nobody's offered Profiles of the Pussy Melter, Tim.
I've been meaning to put in a request in the forum for someone can Profile it. To my ears it sounds like not a bad instant cock-rock tone.
Seems this one is tough to get now. I actually considered picking one up when announced but when I showed it to the wife she was mildly offended.
I have been chatting with the creator of the Direwolf and may see that one roll through before too long.
I don't have a Klon type and would love some thoughts on these. The model in the Helix is pretty nice.
The helix model klon is really good IMO. It's one of the things i have missed and glad i have back now that i got my hx stomp. Prior to getting the stomp I've been using the Tumnus Deluxe by Wampler , the extra eq is solid and can swear by it. It has more gain too!
I'm not a clean boost guy, normally it's an overdrive thing for me.
One of THE BEST tones i ever heard and played through was a mostly dimed original klon into a 78 Plexi or similar.
So... any klon type you get ,plus that Meshuggah amp on a light crunch setting would probably be the effin jizzam
Other ideas would be stacking an od and a fuzz into the effects return. Ts808 or klon into big muff or fuzz face.
I've really been enjoying this thing A LOT!
It's so convenient, portable, sounds just fine. I've really been enjoying this thing. I'll probably by a second one at some point ?
threads merged.
How about the Bias Distortion? I totally forgot about that until recently. You can create your own stomps and fuzzes dist etc. I never played one and I'm not sure how well it would profile, even with a real amp
as a fan of the mighty Multiwave Distortion, I can only recommend taking a look at Source Audio

They make really good stuff and the expansive phone editor app is awesome, I really should mess around with these more. My old bassist had a couple pedals of theirs. 2 thumbs up!!!
I have shopped the Source Audio stuff in the past as was very close to buying one. I really like the idea that you can upload the software from any of the 3 pedals.
I will look into them more. Really not that expensive so it just may be worth a shot.
Thanks guys.
So, Klon clones.....this is a tough one but something I need to figure out.

there is a Clone distortion engine in the Source Audio OD/Dist./Fuzz pedals

In the world of Klones there is Mythos Pedals Mjornir that has been revised and hailed as a good klone and with some upgrades to rival even the original. Of course, the could be overhype. But it's a much cheaper overhype
There was a time I was hunting the Klon clones. They are all a bit different - but in the end the only klon style pedal that stayed (and that I use a lot with the Kemper) is the J. Rockett Archer Ikon.
It's the golden Archer and it does everything a klon is famous for. This is also the perfect pedal to stack with other overdrives.
Was soo use to picking up a Spurce Audio thanks to Don. I have to say I am apprehensive with digital. The Archer is brought up...decisions, decisions.
Thanks guys.

wrong forum!
Too funny, haha!
My use is for profiling with my amps. If I was using it to supplement the Kemper I'd be less apprehensive I think.
Eventide H9's, PitchFuzz and Sculpt algo's. Very unique. Tumnus, Way Huge Fat Sandwich(noisy but , very thick sounding OD/Dist) TC Electronic Nova Drive can do some interesting things when you start stacking the OD and Dist sides in various orders. Either can go first in the chain.
JHS Bonsai's and Muffeletta's are pretty sweet flexible pedals. I have an original Grey DOD OD250 that's pretty sweet, and an original Grey Ross Compressor, that has quite the edge with the Sustain knob past 11AM-12PM.
Too many to list have gone through these hands. I can make usable noise out of most of them.
I will second the H9's pitchfuzz as a standalone distortion fuzz and i completely forgot about the Sculpt! I haven't used it in so long but when it came out I swore by it. I think I even suggested something like that in the feature requests for overhauling and updating the overdrive stomps in the kemper. Fingers crossed
Multiband DS and OD CAN be hard to tweak, but also result in some satisfying tones unattainable by analog means.
I often had a tough time trying to figure out what bands to distort where and how much with what crossover point lol
