more drive stomps

  • I want to see more effect pedals profiled. More Drive pedals and more Fuzz pedals.

The reverbs and delays are nice but I don't use them.

Just get us more effects. I love the Kemper but that is the weak spot for my needs.

  • Hmmm.....

    Maybe.

I've never been a drive pedal guy. If the amp doesn't get me straight in the ball park I want without pedals I move on.

Isn't it possible to profile drive pedals and save them ?

I'm sure I read somewhere you can ?

Buy the pedals you want, profile them and sell on

    ?

  • Effects in the KPA are modelled, not profiled.
You can profile effects based on gain, levels, EQ, but then that is a whole profile, that has to be played by itself.
Many profile their favourite OD or DS pedals embedding them into their clean amps, for example RigBusters specialises in this.
Also the user Bommel here makes a large collection of fuzz'ed profiles available on the RE.

It seems that new DS and ODs are about to be worked on.

Still chasing a worthy one :/

  • Firstly, saltydog, they're not profiled, but modelled "conventionally".

Secondly, none of us knows when it'll happen, but Kemper has said almost a year ago that the dist / OD stomps would be updated, so that should mean improved quality overall; there'd be no point otherwise.

    EDIT

Sorry; I had to wait in order to submit the post, after which time it became redundant. Can't win these days. :/

  • I believe the OD department is the only place the kemper is lagging. Everything else is spot on. I use OD pedals in front of the kemper for soaring lead tones but it would be nice to get rid of that and have everything coming from the kemper.

  • At least for me, I had (and kept) all my drive pedals when I bought the KPA. Even the Tube Screamer.

Working on a midi solution to run them all in the loop via a switcher like the VooDoo Lab Hex or possibly a Disaster Area DPC. :)

Let us know when it's finished. :)

  • I was working on a couple of gig performance setups last night and I couldn't find an OD with a flat response (ie. not appreciable mid-range boost). Arguably that is the same as a boost pedal but I would rather a light OD with a pre and post gain setting.

What did I miss learned forum members? Is there such a thing already there?

  • I am sure that will come but is not an A priority imo. Until then I have a tiny little HX Stomp in the loop. Best of both worlds and "problem" solved. Still, I have setlists in another Kemper where I use the stock drives only and this also not only works fine but sounds killer. Take Tone Junkie´s free Performances for example (like "HW know tone" or even better the "HW worship patch" with 5 performances). They sound so amazing with only the stock drives and come with some EQ blocks that can help push things more to taste or occasion.
