Not happy with V Type Celestion

  • It’s in an open back Hammond organ satellite cabinet, and sounds shrill and harsh on a lot of profiles. Especially with

    Seymour Duncan Phat Cats.

Everything sounds great thru my AKG headphones.

  • I have a V-Type (16 ohm) in a closed 1x12 cab and it works really good with the Kemper, because of its balanced voicing. So I can basically use any type of amps and clean to metal with very convincing results.

I have a closed cab and the lows sound big, but very tight. The V-Type articulates very clear but never "harsh" here. If I want a smoother, warmer tone I use my Lynchback speaker or greenbacks.

  • I now have “ Pure Cab.” ON. It’s taken out some of the harshness.

    Monitor cabinet remains off.

I also lowered the br. PU, which helped.

My Strat and Tele sound good thru this V Type, so it seems to

be a matter of getting these new Phat Cats dialed in.

It’s now about an 80% improvement.
