Kemper just blew up during software update !!!!!

Can’t believe it, I’m gutted my kemper is now dead

I was just updating my studio kempers one by one to the 6.0 release and as the first one was 60 % through the install it made a bang and cut all the electrics. Reset the trip switch and tried to power on the kemper and it’s now dead!! It was updating through rig manager at the time. I’m absolutely gob smacked cant believe it

I dare not up date the other one now Just in case it blows up to. I’ve got studio sessions tomorrow and can’t be without them.

burkard  GString please help. I’ve tried to call customer services but you are shut.

Nope tried a different plug, When i tried to turn it on after it blew i noticed near where the power socket is on the toaster, there are some vents and it sparked green in there.

Kemper is on route to Kemper HQ now to be repaired. I’m thinking it’s the power supply in the unit. I’m just hoping it’s not going to be to expensive to fix as its out of warranty now since it’s 7 years old. I’m also hoping Kemper will look after their loyal customers (as I own 3 KPA’s) and it won’t be to expensive to fix. Fingers crossed

It arrived with them Friday. I messaged kemper today to see if there was any news on what had blown up and if it could be fixed etc, but I was told the service department will look at it today or early tomorrow and get back to me. I just want to know the cost and if it can be fixed.

Just had an email from Hans at Kemper support and my KPA is fixed and already on the way back to me.

It was the power supply and I think I was just unlucky. It’s back up and running now just like normal
