Cool new IR plugin - Something for the next gen Kemper?

    This thing looks incredible. What a great way to check out IRs. Apparently, there are hundreds of thousands of IRs under the hood.

    It would be cool if the Profiler had some kind of equivalent technology to move a mic around on a profiled cabinet.

    Since I very rarely change my cab/IR settings, for my needs good IRs (e.g. Celestion Plus), the free Plugin "LePou LeCab" combined with any good EQ and "Voxengo Deconvolver" do the same job very well.

    Another very useful and free tool for creating and editing IRs is "IRWorkshop":

    If you want to try something radically different, check out Melda's new MCabinet impulse response creator. It's unlike any other plugin of its kind, its full capabilities are hard to describe in just a few sentences. Start with a single impulse, or a folder's worth and morph them into new cabinet types with custom resonances and EQ. Or, start from scratch and build something completely new and export new IR's from that. EQ to your heart's delight as well, it's a great deep-dive and on sale for half price at the moment.

    What I love it about it is it's so easy to find a good IR setting with this. Totally sold. And given that it's so many IRs based on different mics and cabs, I think it's a really good investment to pair with my tube amps.


    Totally unnecessary if you have a Kemper! :)

    I bought a kemper for that reason: Moving away from any ampsims and cab impulses. Everything I need in a box without having to load something in the daw or on the desktop. Sorry but I just don't see the point of bying something expensive as a kemper and still use cab impulses.

    It's fine if you don't want to use it, but the fact that they've make something that very intuitive to create custom IR, is super cool.

    As I mentioned, for most Kemper users, it may not be of much interest.


    I have a few nice tube amps that I like to run through IRs. I have been using Ownhammer IRs for some time now, this is far more intuitive, especially the ability to blend mics and different cabs.
