I had time this morning and I wanted to see if what I read was right. So I profiled some old and some new presets of Amplitube 3 to try and see by myself. They are no perfect, but for a first try, I'm happy to say that these are better than I expected. I used Ownhammer IR's only, so I bypassed the part of Amplitube that I did not like.
Tell me if it's better or worst than you thought after a try.

on zip files profiles, extension are not .kipr but .krig...

extension are not .kipr but .krig...
That's the new format for rigs which comes along with the 7.0.x-releases of the firmware.
Just as a workaround you can try to simply rename the extension from krig to kipr in order to import the rigs into your version of the software.
