I had no reply but perhaps your thread title was more explicit than mine. It is extremely irritating. Glad to know that it is not just me.
I find it difficult to believe that this was a conscious decision. Why would anyone want to move backwards in this way. Perhaps someone could explain this to me?
I have zero issues with this on 7.1
Any rig already saved on the KPA gives me a "replace" option when storing.
Only get "Store As" on newly uploaded rigs, so pressing "Store" twice saves the rig as is.
So why is this happening to me and RushFan1976? I would think that it was a system problem if it was only me.
Surely we can't be the only ones experiencing this irritating issue. Is it intentional or a unintended consequence of the update?
Are you loading the original profile via Rig Manager or from the front panel of the KPA? I believe RM only loads the profile in an edit buffer for previewing therefore it isn’t actually in the KPA memory to be able to be saved over.
Thanks for the reply. I am originally loading from Rig Manager and saving to the Kemper as I have always done, but the behaviour has changed. It does work as you suggest but you used to be able to perform the replace function with profiles directly loaded into the Kemper from Rig Manager. I have 400 profiles loaded and it takes much longer scrolling through the Kemper menu than through Rig Manager. (I actually am loading from the profiles on board the Kemper using RM). A retrograde step I'd say.
I wasn’t aware the behaviour had changed. I didn’t know you could even do replace when loading from RM. However, I suspect the change in behaviour might be something necessary in OS7 to allow the RM3 and editor to function properly. If that is the case then it wouldn’t be a retrograde step but more a sideways step which should have been a smooth thing if the editor had been ready as planned. Only time will tell though.
Time will tell. Only I will spend more time scrolling through profiles on the Kemper, which as a recording musician is rather more time consuming. However, there are quite a lot of changes to Rig Manager to absorb. It seems a shame that RM is not more interactive as modifying presets that were on you Kemper was the Kind of facility that I valued. I would love to be able to alter parameters in RM so that it becomes an editor as well as an archiver.
