Display MoreHi all,
just ordered my Kemper Profiling Amp ("only" the head) and thought that is the best time to write my "Hello"-message here in the forum.
After Hughes&Kettner (where I own the Black Spirit & GrandMeister 36 amps) and Duesenberg (with my Starplayer Special and Caribou guitars) this is the third gear-producing company from Germany.
The decision for Kemper came because of all the positive reviews I read and my use case that I am mainly using the amp in a home studio scenario.
I have some questions which I outline here and maybe post them more detailed later in the appropriate forum sections.
1. I am looking for a VOX AC30 profile (esp. the Brian May configuration) - which I think should not be hard to find. Maybe the "hardest part" would be to choose "the right" profile.
2. I am looking for profiles of the Duesenberg Berlin amp, which is more nearly twice as expensive as the Kemper. I found messages from some other users which where looking for such profiles but there was no positive answer (at least in the threads I read). Here is a sound demo: https://youtu.be/6BS2HsQ4Byo
3. As I "only" bought the head I wonder whether I use the Black Spirit, VOX AC30VR (transistor) or the GrandMeister 36 (tube) to get the sound live out of my guitar box. I saw a YouTube video that suggested plugging the guitar into the Kemper and then route the Kemper into the FX return of the guitar amp: https://youtu.be/Q25XqgrZfQk
The Black Spirit 200 and the GrandMeister 36 both have FX loops, while the VOX AC30VR has not. Maybe I can plug the Kemper in the guitar IN of the VOX as alternative?
Another idea of mine was buying an amp like the Orange Pedal Baby 100 which has a very flat iQ . All that after profiling and selling the GrandMeister and Black Spirit, because of budget restrictions
Other suggestions are very welcome!
So, that's it for the moment.
Waiting for my Kemper to arrive… hopefully early next week.
Best, Adrian
Welcome to the forums! I think there are also some micro EHX amps that you should consider. One gives out 22 watts, the other 40 watts iirc. That's really loud enough for home jamming.
