Also, I know this may be a completely subjective question, however what seems to be the consensus on highest quality/most user friendly VST drum software?
Addictive Drums is by far my favorite vst drum sequencer. It sounds fantastic.
The Slate one is second on my list but I hardly bother with it.
Anyway I have very good experience with his one: MT-PowerDrumKit
For a free drum VST, it goes pretty damn good.
I'd recommend getting another free one, CamelCrusher, and popping it on top. A couple of the presets work really nicely and improve the MT-PDK's performance dramatically.
double (or quad) track guitars, 80% l and r (quad add 60% l and r) bass use the Di track under the mixed bass lowering di track just enough so you almost can’t hear it. You will get a fuller sound spread l and right and with added drums sound is even. Experiment and eq. Good luck
