Nate, she can be proud of you. Well done. I hear lots of great influence from Black Sabbath and Alice In Chains. Very cool flow in the track. Like the overall sound, cool thing. Thoughts are with you in these times.
Excellent effort, Nate! I definitely noticed the BS influence; that one's strong, but the song is definitely "all-you", mate. I loved the harmonies. Sounds like they came naturally to you.
I don't know how people manage to write and record about someone they love in a situation like the one you're in, brother. I can't imagine having the strength. What a champion you are.
I hope you're able to play it to her and that she's able to hear it and take it in. If not, that can't be helped, but at least you'll have this as something else to remember her by. My heart goes out to you, Nate. Take care buddy.
Your Mom raised you to be one hell of a Man, Well Played Nate.
Monkey_Man Wow, thank you so much. I love the Alice In Chains harmonies so I gravitate to that. Plus its a good way to compensate for my thin voice...lol. I am 300 miles from mom so had my brother play it for her. Had a wierd experience writing this. The words and melodies came very quickly and I was so into the process that it didnt bother me. But the moment I heard the final master I got pretty emotional. No better way to deal with life than writing a song
MuddySludge Much appreciated my friend. Music is a wonderful thing.

I couldn't agree more Nicky. I don't understand the person that can write these lyrics at this time without losing it every 30 seconds. Strength is the perfect word for it.
Southdakota I loved it man. The lyrics ring true, and there is something really beautiful about the tonal quality of it (the AIC and BS type vibe) that adds a completely different darker more real dimension to the song. It's a really powerful piece of work. I'm so sorry Nate. Please take care of yourself in the coming months.
Your mom must be an awesome lady.
Locrain I really appreciate the kind words. As I mentioned earlier, the words and melodies came very quickly and I was so caught up in getting good performances that I got through it fine. When it was complete and I had a chance to really take it all in, it hit me pretty hard. Shes a strong beautiful woman.
Thank you all again. Your words are very comforting!
Nate, great song! The change at around the 1 min mark is fantastic. (Listening to it for the 3rd time in a row.)
All I can tell you - unfortunately from experience - is that the ones who already lost their mothers are all with you. I am positive that she could not have been more proud when she heard her son make this great song for her.
May God bless you brother and your Mother!
Well done Nate, I especially dig the wah solo , great tone. That song has a real meaning , this is something you can be proud of.
Great song and way to deal with this situation, very Sabbath to my ears. I have unfortunately been there and there’s nothing I can say about your situation apart from keep strong brother, you have earned your own place, she raised a good one.
Well done Nate !! Beautiful song, playing, lyrics and sound man Very Black sabbath'ish as mentioned before. Like that very much !!
Late to this thread, but so glad I found it.
Nicely done sir.
Great tune, I like the main riff a lot!
