New to Kemper - Trying to find the Daniel Byrne octave sound (from Jacob Banks)

  • Hi everyone,

I am completely new to Kemper. What a wonderful piece of gear it is!

However I do get lost rather quickly in getting the sound I want. For example I can't seem to dial in a good Fuzz tone when using the Fuzz Old module. It doesn't sound completely right to me, if that makes sense.

So I am now learning myself to recreate sounds I hear from people playing the Kemper to learn to noodle with the settings. Totally into this song from Jacob Banks - Mercy. But I don't even know where to begin recreating this. Could anyone point me in the right direction?

This is a performance with a traditional rig: Jacob Banks - Mercy

I found this live performace where you can see he is using a Kemper: Jacob Banks - Mercy (Kemper)

I saw the part where he puts his foot down on an expression or volume pedal, but I think it is only to cut the sound?

    Thanks for helping guys.

Really excited to get into this community.

  • try Fuzz -> Analog Octaver.

maybe put a Studio EQ between the two adjust the Fuzz tone.

also, try Analog Octaver -> Fuzz and decides which one works better for you.

Alternatively you can try one of the many great fuzz Profiles in Rig Manager / Rig Exchange (Pharaoh for example) and add the Analog Octaver stomp.
