Strange Issue with Mission Expression Pedal and Pitch Shifting

  • I just got a Mission Expression Expression Pedal and was able to configure it thanks to the wonderful tutorials from Thomas Dill.

I have a strange thing with the Pitch shifter/Whammy. If I use a one octave up type whammy I literally have to push the Expression Pedal with a lot of force to get the full octave. Otherwise It will only do something around 11 semitones which is horrible.

Pedal is calibrated and works fine for volume and wah

Is there maybe a setting in the pic shifting or a special setting for doing whammies I have overlooked?

    Many thanks for any help

  • What happens if you set it to "13" instead of "12" ?

I use a rebuilt "Cry Baby" wha-pedal with a short throw

and have to set it to "14" if I want a whole octave up .

But I have it set to "6" to get a fifth up , that´s enough

for me, don´t want to get too high ;)

    Cheers !

The adjective for metal is metallic. But not so for iron ... which is ironic.

  • Thanks for the suggestion. 13 won't work. The thing is just that at 12 it does work, but I have to really push the pedal and lift my heel to make sure it really hits the octave.

  • May I ask why it does not work with 13 ?

Other suggestion is to cut off a slice of the

rubber cushion ( if any ) under the moving

part of the pedal´s front to get a slightly

    longer throw ....:/

    Cheers !

  • The pedal calibration setup needs a rework. You press the calibrate button and there is absolutely no indication if it has worked or is even functional. Awful implementation for something quite crucial.

  • OK , I guess it´s a different thing if you connect your pedal to

"Pedal 1" or "Pedal 2" on the back of the KPA ....

I got my pedals connected to my Ground Control Pro and from

there it goes to the KPA trough MIDI-cable an my rebuilt Wha-

    pedal´s MIDI-range is 000 to 109 instead of 000 to 127 so that´s

why I have to set "Pitch Range" a little higher ;)

When used as a Wha Wha it doesn´t matter, just dial in what

    sound best in Wha settings

    Cheers again !
