Kemper using DAW eq baked into profiles?

Hey all!
So i've been losing my mind trying to figure this out - Basically all I want to do is use a Pro tools EQ to notch out problem frequencies from my amp/cab (The studio EQ on the kemper Q values are too wide and arn't really what I need) From what I understand I can run the chain like this

KPA DI SEND -> AMP -> MIC -> PREAMP/Interface with preamp ->DAW-> interface out -> KPA return in

But every time I do this when I go to profile I get a warning that there is no amp connected or signal too low . . . What am I doing wrong? and also how do I actually monitor what's going on during profiling ?

Im using pro tools with a Focusrite Saffire liquid 56

Any help would be immensely appreciated!

Make sure you set the “return level” on the Kemper high enough. You’ll see that on the first profile screen.

You can monitor the incoming signal on it’s own by selecting the “reference amp” soft button.

Make sure that live monitoring in the daw track is on. Monitor your interace output to check if there is some signal. Then connect it to KPA.
