Kemper now useless after OS Update

Support ticket submitted but I'm hoping there's something I can do until I hear back from Kemper

Just updated to the latest (non beta) operating system. The kemper freezes at the final step in start up (something about create preset cache) and then gives me a please contact support window.

I'm looking for solutions, if any, besides a factory reset. Any suggestions at all? I have a recording project starting and I'm trying very hard to keep my rage at Kemper bottled up right now.

For example, is there a way to force the unit to install an earlier version of the OS when it's in this mode?

Perhaps the rig in memory is corrupt. I believe that the following will clear it (if that's what it is):

With KPA off, hold the RIg button down. While still holding it down, switch the KPA to Tuner (keep holding down the Rig button until the KPA starts).

That didn't work, but the link you provided gives a method to force an install off a USB stick. trying that now

You're welcome, but the thanks should go to Armin at Soundside. I have no idea why the newer OS gave you problems, since many others are using it without issue, but you might try a fresh copy of the kaos.bin file.
