The new JMP-1 stuff that just went up on the rig exchange by ETS is wonderful.
Well, this was my first profiling with my new kemper Profiling Amp, and
this was just a direct profile of my beloved light modified JMP-1,(no poweramp and mike just straight thru)
and to be honest i didn't expect much of this, but i think the KPA did a good job!
The KPA was not able to capture the full ''soul'' of the JMP-1, but i think it got the caracter and
the core sound of the JMP-1, and that's the most important thing for further improvements i think!
That said, this is the best sounding JMP-1 that i have ever owned, and i have had a few thru the years,
so to my ears the KPA did a pretty good (direct) profile of this!
Anyway, i'm glad you like it and the best part of it with the Kemper, is that you can tweak it your way!
I will try to make some poweramp profiles of it later on, but have no mike at the moment.............i know, i have to buy one!
The KPA does not blow me 100% away on profiling(yet), but it certainly sounds and feel good and it's a joy to play, thats for sure!
Just come across your JMP profiles, totally awesome , i have never owned a JMP so i cant compare but they sound full on, any chance of more of these?
A really effective way to fine tune the response of a JMP-1 is with different brands of tubes. The one I used to have sounded great with 7025 tubes in it instead of 12AX7s - softer distortion, and a little darker.
Really enjoying these profiles - they sound like the Marshall sound I have in my head.
I'm generally prefer cleaner stuff so maybe if you used the combo the 10 inch speaker gives it a lift that I like?
Randomly clicking / loading profiles in the rig manager, I stumbled into this one yesterday and have really been enjoying it. Since this thread is from 2012, I thought others might enjoy it as well!
Here's how it sounds with my Gibson V - bridge pickup (well, the only pickup in this guitar)
Thank you for the heads-up, Bill.
Thanks for the heads up! Nice profiles.
